Terms of use for Flip.no
These terms (the "Terms") apply to private customers (the "Customer") using the digital platform Flip.no and associated digital solutions provided by Flip Oppussing AS, Org. no. 928 635 414, Bogstadveien 27B, 0355 Oslo ("Flip"), to request, receive and manage quotes for renovation and contractor services. Flip is a digital brokerage platform and technology provider. Flip does not perform the contractor services ordered through the platform. The services are performed by independent contractor businesses affiliated with the platform (the "Contractor"). By using Flip.no, submitting a request, receiving a quote or accepting a quote through the platform, the Customer accepts these Terms. The Norwegian version of these terms is legally binding. This English translation is provided for convenience only.
1. Introduction and scope
These terms apply to private customers using Flip.no and associated digital solutions provided by Flip Oppussing AS to request, receive and manage quotes for renovation and contractor services.
2. Roles of the parties
Flip acts solely as a broker and technology provider. When the Customer accepts a quote through the platform, the agreement for the contractor services is entered into directly between the Customer and the relevant Contractor. Flip is not a party to this agreement. The Contractor is the contracting party and has full legal responsibility for performance and quality of the work, progress, defects, delays, complaints and damages.
3. Flip's services
Flip offers a digital platform that enables the Customer to submit project information, receive fixed-price quotes from Contractors, accept quotes and enter into agreements, communicate in writing about the project, manage changes and additional work, make payments via Flip, and report deviations. Flip screens and quality-checks Contractors before they are granted access to the platform.
4. Ordering process
The Customer submits project details through Flip.no. Based on the information provided, the Customer may receive a fixed-price quote from a Contractor via the platform. The quote is based on the information the Customer provides. When the Customer accepts a quote in the platform, the acceptance is binding and an agreement is created between the Customer and the Contractor.
5. Customer's duty to disclose
The Customer must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information about the property and the work to be performed, including area, rooms and surfaces, existing damage or irregularities, access conditions, whether the property is occupied, and other factors that may affect price, progress or execution.
6. Quotes and pricing
Quotes presented through Flip are fixed-price quotes from the Contractor. Flip's service is free for the Customer. Flip may receive a fee from the Contractor for use of the platform. Work not covered by the original quote is considered additional work and must be agreed separately.
7. Changes and additional work
Changes, additions and deviations from the original quote must be handled in writing in the platform. If it becomes necessary to change or expand the work, this must be agreed in writing between the Customer and the Contractor in the platform before the work is performed. Flip facilitates such communication but is not a party to the change agreement.
8. Payment
The Customer does not pay in advance unless explicitly agreed in writing. Payment is due after the Customer has approved the final result in the platform. Payment may be made via card (Stripe or similar) or invoice. Flip is authorised by the Contractor to collect payment on the Contractor's behalf.
9. Cancellation
The Customer may cancel after accepting a quote. Cancellation up to 48 hours before agreed start: 15% of the quote price. Cancellation less than 48 hours before agreed start: 25% of the quote price. After work has commenced: the Customer pays for value delivered, minimum 25% of the quote price.
10. Right of withdrawal (distance selling)
As the order is placed online, the agreement may be covered by the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act. For services, the starting point is that the Customer has a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day after the agreement was entered into. If the Customer expressly requests that work begin before the withdrawal period expires and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal may lapse wholly or partly, this applies per the Act.
11. Execution, progress and completion
Timing for start and completion is agreed between the Customer and the Contractor, normally through the platform. Flip does not guarantee start date, progress or completion. The Customer must ensure the worksite is accessible and suitable for the work at the agreed time.
12. Complaints, defects and deficiencies
If the Customer believes there are defects, deficiencies or delays, the Customer must complain to the Contractor within a reasonable time. Flip is not responsible for defects in the work but may facilitate complaint registration in the platform. The Norwegian Craftsman Services Act applies to consumer services.
13. Damages and insurance
The Contractor is responsible for damages caused by the Contractor's work. The Customer is responsible for having valid insurance on the property and own belongings. Flip is not responsible for damage resulting from the Contractor's work unless Flip itself is directly liable under mandatory law.
14. Flip's limitation of liability
Flip is responsible for providing the platform in a proper manner but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or delay-free service. Flip is not liable for information provided by the Customer or Contractor, accuracy of quotes, performance of the contractor service, the Contractor's delays, defects or breach, or indirect or consequential losses.
15. Support and deviation handling
Deviations and practical questions should primarily be registered in the platform. Flip's customer centre (hei@flip.no / 22 20 55 55) may assist with administrative follow-up, but Flip does not assume the Contractor's contractual responsibility.
16. Privacy
Flip processes personal data as described in the privacy policy below. By using Flip's services, the Customer confirms having read the privacy policy.
17. Changes to the Terms
Flip may update these Terms. Updated terms are published on Flip.no and apply to new orders from the date of publication. For ongoing projects, the version available when the quote was accepted normally applies.
18. Governing law and disputes
The agreement between the Customer and the Contractor is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes about the contractor service shall be resolved between the Customer and the Contractor. The parties should first attempt to resolve disagreements amicably. Consumers may also bring cases before relevant dispute resolution bodies.
